1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Beat the Sweep ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

Beat the Sweep is a mobile application that helps users avoid street sweeping parking tickets by:

• Reading and interpreting parking sign information using image recognition technology
• Sending reminder notifications before street sweeping times
• Storing parking location information for recurring reminders

3. User Responsibilities

As a user of Beat the Sweep, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information when creating an account
• Verify the accuracy of parking sign interpretations before relying on them
• Not rely solely on the App for parking compliance decisions
• Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
• Not use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App

4. Disclaimer of Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, Beat the Sweep uses automated image recognition technology that may not always correctly interpret parking signs. You acknowledge and agree that:

• The App's interpretation of parking signs may contain errors
• Street sweeping schedules may change without notice by local authorities
• Notification delivery depends on factors outside our control (network connectivity, device settings, etc.)
• You are solely responsible for verifying parking regulations and moving your vehicle on time
• We do not guarantee that using the App will prevent parking tickets

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BEAT THE SWEEP AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any parking tickets, fines, or penalties you receive
• Vehicle towing or impoundment
• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, profits, or goodwill
• Service interruptions or failures to deliver notifications
• Errors in parking sign interpretation

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the past 12 months, or $50, whichever is greater.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Beat the Sweep, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, are the exclusive property of Beat the Sweep and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our prior written consent.

7. User Content

By uploading photos of parking signs to the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, process, and store these images for the purpose of providing the service. We may also use anonymized data to improve our image recognition technology.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

• Violation of these Terms
• Suspected fraudulent or illegal activity
• Extended periods of inactivity
• At your request

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services including Google Cloud Vision, Firebase, and mapping services. Your use of the App is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these third-party providers.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Beat the Sweep and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of California.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
